  • 1 free credit to start
  • Original font & layout preserved
  • Several languages in one go

Three localisation jobs.

Cases where only the finished image exists and rebuilding it per language would take longer than the translation itself.

Store screenshots in Spanish, same UI

Store listings want screenshots in each language you sell in. Instead of rebuilding and recapturing every screen, translate the copy on the existing English capture. The status bar, chrome and colours stay exactly as captured.

An English version of a chalkboard menu

A café near a tourist route wants its Spanish board in English for its map listing. There is no design file — only a photo. The dish names are redrawn in the same chalk style. For same-language price changes, use the main editor.

A German banner by tomorrow

The summer banner shipped in English and the source file is with an agency. German runs roughly a third longer than English; the translated headline is fitted into the same block so the composition still balances.

What does translating the text in an image involve?

To translate text in an image, each line of text inside the picture is replaced with its translation and redrawn in the same typeface, weight, colour and position. EditImageText first finds every line of text, then asks the image model to rewrite the whole picture in the target language, and finally copies only the text areas back into your original file — so backgrounds, photos and illustrations stay identical.

That is the difference from camera translators such as Google Lens or Apple Live Text, which overlay a translation so you can read a sign. Here the result is a production asset you can publish: a localised store screenshot, a menu photo in a second language, a banner variant for another market.

How to translate text in an image

Reading a foreign image? Use a camera translator. Publishing a translated one? Three steps:

  1. Upload the image

PNG, JPEG or WebP up to 10 MB: a UI capture, a menu photo, a banner or a poster. No source file needed.

  2. Pick the languages

Choose up to five. Each language is its own image and one edit. The AI translates every line it finds.

  3. Check and download

Read names, prices and dates once before publishing. Need exact wording for one line? Use replace mode on the home page.

What to check for each kind of image

The flow is the same for every picture; what goes wrong differs.

  • Banners and ads

Translations are rarely the same length. German and French run longer, so the text gets smaller to fit its block — check it at phone size.

  • Posters and flyers

Dense small print (date, venue, address) is where a mistranslation costs you. Read it before printing.

  • Menus

Some dish names should stay in the original language. Fix those afterwards in replace mode, one dish at a time.

  • Infographics

Numbers are kept, but check every translated label still sits next to the right bar. Right-to-left scripts are not mirrored.

  • Packaging

Fine for marketing mock-ups. Regulated text — ingredients, allergens, dosage — must be reviewed by a qualified person in the target market.

  • Thumbnails

Keep the translation as short as the original. If it needs a second line, it won't read at phone size.

Frequently asked questions

How do I translate text in a picture and keep the same font?
Upload the picture, choose the language and click Translate. The model samples the original lettering — typeface, weight, colour, spacing and shadow — and redraws the translation in that style.
Does the AI translate for me?
Yes. You don't type the translation. Brand names, URLs, numbers and prices are left as they are. Machine translation can miss tone and idiom, so have a native speaker check anything you publish.
How is this different from Google Lens or Google Translate?
Those are reading aids: they place a rough translation over the photo so you can understand it. EditImageText produces a clean image with the translation rendered in the original typography, ready to publish.
How much does it cost?
One credit translates one image into one language, however many lines it contains. A banner into German, French and Spanish is three credits. New accounts get one free credit.
Which languages are supported?
Twenty target languages, including English, Spanish, Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), Japanese, Korean, French, German, Portuguese, Arabic and Hindi. Printed-style fonts translate most reliably; calligraphic scripts may need a retry.
Will the layout break if the translation is longer?
Usually not — the translation is fitted into the block the original occupied. For very tight spaces such as button labels, choose a shorter phrasing and fix it in replace mode.
What files and resolutions are supported?
PNG, JPEG and WebP up to 10 MB. Output is up to 2K on Fast and native 4K on Pro, with your original aspect ratio. Use PNG for screenshots with sharp text.
Is it legal to translate text in an image?
Translating images you own or are licensed to adapt is normal localisation work. Translating or altering identity, legal or official documents is not allowed. See the Acceptable Use Policy.
