Edit text in image. Keep the original style.

Tell us which words to change and what they should say. EditImageText repaints only those letters — same typeface, colour and angle — on posters, screenshots, packaging and signs.

Type the words exactly as they appear, including capitals.

By clicking Generate you confirm you own or are licensed to edit this image, and that the edit is not meant to deceive anyone — for example in visa or immigration paperwork, refund or payment proofs, or altered chat and email screenshots.

A speaker swap on a printed programme

The schedule is typeset, approved and exported — then a speaker cancels. Change the name on the finished page and keep the typewriter face and the highlighter mark. If only a flattened file survives, the same edit works on a screenshot or JPG.

One design, a new word per edition

A poster series reuses one layout and swaps the headline for each location. Update the word on the exported poster instead of reopening the design file — the lighthouse, waves and grain stay put.

What is EditImageText?

EditImageText is an online tool that changes the words inside an existing image without Photoshop or design skills. You upload a picture, type the text that is there and the text that should replace it, and an AI model redraws only those letters — matching the surrounding typeface, colour, size, perspective and background. Everything outside the edited text is copied back from your original file pixel for pixel.

People use it to fix a typo after export, update a price or date, rename a feature in documentation screenshots, or localise a finished graphic into another language.

How to edit text in an image

Three steps. Most edits are ready in under a minute.

  1. Upload your image

PNG, JPEG or WebP up to 10 MB. Drag it in, click to browse or paste from the clipboard.

  2. Type the change

Enter the text exactly as it appears and what it should say. You can change up to four lines at once.

  3. Download the result

Compare before and after, then download a PNG. Keep editing the result if you need another change.

Simple pricing. No subscription.

When is EditImageText the wrong tool?

It does one job: change words in an image that already exists. For anything else, another tool will serve you better.

  • Designing from scratch

To lay out new text on a blank canvas, use a design tool such as Canva, Figma or Affinity.

  • Tiny or pixel-art text

Letters only a few pixels tall leave no room to redraw cleanly. Upload the highest-resolution version you have.

  • A few letters inside a word

Type the whole word as it appears and the whole word as it should read. Partial words are ambiguous, especially in connected scripts.

  • PDFs and multi-page files

Uploads are single images. Export the page you need as PNG first.

  • Extreme panoramas

Very wide or tall strips are padded to a supported shape before editing, which can reduce detail. Crop closer to the text for best results.

  • Identity and official documents

We refuse IDs, statements, receipts, certificates and seals. See the Acceptable Use Policy.

Frequently asked questions about editing text in images

Answers to what people ask before their first edit.

How do I edit text in an image online?
Upload a PNG, JPEG or WebP image, type the text exactly as it appears and what it should say, then click Generate. EditImageText finds the words, redraws them in the original style and returns a PNG you can download.
Is it free?
Every new account gets 1 free credit, which covers one edit at 1K resolution (about 1024 px on the long edge). Credit packs render Fast edits at 2K and unlock Pro edits at native 4K. No card is needed to start.
Will the rest of my image change?
No. The AI only works on a crop around the text, and only the inside of each text area is pasted back into your file. Everything else is your original pixels.
What kinds of images work best?
Posters, product photos, packaging, menus, signs, social graphics and app or web screenshots with clear, legible text. Very small text (a few pixels tall), dense handwriting and heavily distorted lettering are the hardest cases.
How is this different from Photoshop?
In Photoshop you remove the old text, rebuild the background, identify and install the font, then match size, colour and perspective by hand. EditImageText does those steps automatically for a single change. For complex layout work, a design tool is still the better choice.
Do credits expire?
No. Credits are a one-time purchase and stay in your account until you use them.
What if the result looks wrong?
If an edit fails or the model returns no image, the credit goes back to your balance automatically. If the result is legible but not right, try again with the exact original wording, or mark the area by hand on the box editor.
Can I use the results commercially?
Yes, for images you own or are licensed to adapt. You are responsible for the rights to what you upload. Generated images carry Google's invisible SynthID watermark.
What can't I edit?
Identity documents, passports, bank statements, receipts and invoices, certificates, official seals and currency — and any edit meant to deceive someone. The full list is in our Acceptable Use Policy.
